Welcome To Our Website
On behalf of the career and volunteer employees of the Blue Ridge Fire Department, welcome to our website and thank you for your interest in our community and department.
The Blue Ridge Fire Department is located in Coconino County, Arizona in the heart of the Coconino National Forest, the largest continuous Ponderosa Pine Forest in the world. At an elevation of 6,900 feet, we enjoy average snow fall of up to 120 inches between October and April and 15 inches of spring and summer rains. These conditions create a recreational paradise a mere 2½ hours north of the metro Phoenix area.
The Blue Ridge Fire Department is a taxpayer supported Public Safety Fire District. The District operates 4 engines, 2 ambulances, command and utility vehicles to cover 7 square miles of residences and recreational property for fire, 180 square miles of forest and subdivisions for EMS/Ambulance and approximately 75 miles of State and County highways for EMS/Extrication/Ambulance.
Blue Ridge, also referred to as Happy Jack, is also home to the Mogollon Rim Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest. The Blue Ridge & Happy Jack Ranger Stations are home of the “Blue Ridge Hot Shots” National Resource Fire Crews as well as year round fire management, forest crews, and management staff.
It is our hope you will find the various pages of this web site helpful. This site was created to provide information on the Department itself, its Governing Board- the Blue Ridge Fire District, as well as information for other federal and local fire resources. We will also try to provide public education in Fire/EMS safety and the use of our national resources.
